About this Short Film
Capability Building (EdSpace Education and Training Centre, Australia, 2020) offers a warm, honest look at learning and connection. The short pieces together everyday moments: group activities at school, music sessions, café hangouts and the odd blooper that brings a laugh. It highlights young people and students with intellectual and cognitive processing disabilities as they take part in shared experiences and build confidence. Presented as part of the Focus on Ability festival, the film celebrates practical skills, social connection and the small achievements that matter. Quiet, upbeat and human, it reminds us that ability comes in many forms and that progress is often joyful.

This school provides education for children with great potential. The government should set up more schools like this as they are urgently needed. Education is important for all children and mainline schools do not suit every child.
