About this Short Film

Chosen (Sam Majamanda, Malawi, 2020) is a short film presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. The film examines themes of achievement, determination and how perception shapes the lives of children and teenagers with congenital and physical disabilities. It brings attention to school life, mobility and the individual viewpoints that influence how abilities are seen. Quiet and direct, Chosen invites audiences to think about the everyday realities and hopes of young people who use wheelchairs and face physical barriers. As part of our programme, it contributes to a broader conversation about inclusion, agency and the many ways people demonstrate resilience.

An amazingly inspirational young boy wise beyond his years. Congratulations to Wheelchairs for Kids for moving him closer to accomplish his dream through being mobile to attend school. AUD200.00 to enable this initial step of a wheelchair is 40 take away coffees such a small price to enhance a young boys life to fulfil his dream.

The wheelchairs shown in this clip was manufactured by volunteers at the Wheelchairs for Kids workshop in Perth West Australia. The wheelchair was specifically designed for rough terrain use in developing counties. Since 2015 WFK's have donated 2190 wheelchairs to Malawi and many more to Kenya Uganda and Zambia. . Everyone within WFK's is a volunteer no paid staff including the CEO . A A200 donation will get a WFK's wheelchair to a child living with disabilities in a developing country. You are an inspiration Talandir we wish you the very best in the future.see httpswww.facebook.comwheelchairsforkids for more information.

This video is really inspiring sending messages not only to disabled kids but the community as well that disability is not inability as it is a common assumption. The positivity and courageous spirit portrayed by the young boy is a motivating factor. Kudos to him.
