About this Short Film
Included (2020), directed by Nick Marshall, is a short Australian film that explores themes of inclusion, childhood and sport in beachside settings. Through images of Nippers, groups of teenagers and children, the film speaks to experiences tied to congenital and intellectual disability without reducing them to labels. Quiet and observant, it invites viewers to notice everyday moments of belonging, play and challenge. Presented as part of the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Included sits alongside works that highlight the abilities and achievements of people with disability. A subtle, humane piece, it asks audiences to consider how communities come together on and off the sand.

Nice work Nick. The short film says it all mate. Beautiful
Great job to all involved...... We are community......
This is one of the best films that I've ever seen bringing these special needs kiddies into the mainstream nippers group is truly amazing. I first saw this film on a Virgin flight from Sydney to the Gold Coast and it made me so proud to be associated with Nobbys Surf Club. What Nick Marshall has provided for these kiddies is heart warming and really special. The story about Laurdie is so touching and EXACTLY what Nicks program is all about. Well done to Nick and all involved a fantastic effort.
If that doesnt give you goosebumps nothing will. Very inspirational Nick Your a great mentor to all those people
