Journey

About this Short Film

Journey, directed by Assefa Zerihun (Ethiopia, 2021), is a short film included in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. The film examines themes of blind and sensory disability, physical impairment and the use of a wheelchair, along with group dynamics, helping and motivation. Shot with sensitivity, it offers a quiet, human look at the realities and everyday challenges faced by adults with disability. Rather than telling a single story, Journey contributes to a broader conversation about ability, support and resilience. Its thoughtful approach makes it a fitting addition to our programme, inviting audiences to reflect on inclusion and shared strength.
