Nawaz Ahmed’s The Armless Fighter (Pakistan, 2021) joins Focus on Ability with a direct, humane look at themes around physical disability and inclusion. The short explores experiences linked to amelia, and reflects on motivation, sport, prejudice, stereotypes and stigma that affect adults with disability. It speaks to the determination people bring to everyday challenges and to public perceptions that can limit opportunity. Presented as part of our festival strand on ability and belonging, the film offers a thoughtful contribution to conversations about accessibility and respect, inviting audiences to reconsider assumptions and recognise individual strengths in new ways.
