About this Short Film
Falling Up Stairs, by Sally Newman, is a short film that reflects on living with multiple sclerosis and the daily challenges that can shape a person’s sense of self. Made in Australia in 2022. Poetic images and shifting viewpoints invite audiences to consider perception, bullying and the different ways people navigate physical and medical disability. It does not prescribe answers, but creates space for thought and feeling.
