We are pleased to present Millie Kolomyjec’s The Brewing of a Man (Australia, 2022). Selected for the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, this short explores themes of achievement, anxiety, autism and cognitive processing disability. It considers the challenges young adults face around employment and belonging, and the small, everyday steps that can feel like progress. This is such a heartwarming film. I loved watching Lewis journey from his early years with all the challenges he faced through to becoming gainfully employed was inspiration. Im so proud to call Lewis my grandson we are blessed to have him as part of our family.
