About this Short Film
Heart of Our Home is a 2024 short from Al-Taqwa College, Australia. Tender and often funny, it looks at family and friends through the lens of autism, cognitive processing and sensory differences. The film considers perception, stigma and stereotypes while celebrating individual achievement and joy. It does not assume a single story, instead offering moments that invite viewers to reflect on how we see one another. Presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Heart of Our Home joins other works that highlight the everyday strengths and humour of people with disability. A warm, thoughtful addition to the programme.
