Lest We Remember

About this Short Film

Lest We Remember by Leon Rakai and Corina Abraham (Australia, 2024) is a short film that explores weighty themes such as stigma, prejudice, isolation and the effects of bullying. It also brings First Nation perspectives and historical trauma into dialogue with questions of perception, theft and injustice. Physical disability and the presence of a wheelchair are part of the film’s emotional landscape, shaping how individuals and friendships are seen and challenged. Presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, this work sits with other films that highlight the abilities, experiences and resilience of people with disability.
