About this Short Film
Heart, from St John's Grammar (Australia, 2025), is presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. The film looks at everyday activities and group life among teenagers with intellectual and cognitive processing disabilities, including Down syndrome, in a school context. It offers a warm, respectful view of young people as they take part in shared moments and routines, and of how peers and community shape their days. Short and observant, Heart sits comfortably in the festival programme, which celebrates the abilities, experiences and achievements of people with disability, and invites audiences to notice the small gestures and connections that matter.
