About this Short Film
Punchinello Prankster, directed by Iain Misselbrook, is a 2025 Australian short presented at the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. Without presuming a plot, this film explores themes around adults and children, teenagers, and people with cognitive processing disabilities including Down syndrome. It offers moments that spotlight interactions within a group, and the small, human ways people communicate and connect. The festival is proud to include this work as part of our programme because it highlights ability, presence and humour while prompting audiences to consider inclusion and respect. Short, warm and observant, Punchinello Prankster adds a thoughtful voice to conversations about community and belonging.
