Focus (2026), film still

About this Short Film

Bullied for his colourful, kid-like fidgets, young Kai - who has autism and dyslexia - no longer wanted to live. Left with no other choice, he forged his own from a bike chain. By 18, that single act of defiance has become Kaiko Fidgets, a company purpose-built for the neurodivergent community. Kai transformed his darkest years into a movement and became a voice for everyone who was ever told that who they are is a problem to be fixed.

This short film absolutely encapsulates what Focus on Ability stands for. From being bullied at school to the point of losing all hope, to recognising his incredible way of thinking and developing his skills to build his own business and create a life for himself. Such a powerful and inspiring story of resilience, determination and what is possible when we focus on ability, not disability.

What a great film! Nobody should be bullied for using something that helps them. Wishing Kai and his team every success.
