About this Short Film
Change Your Focus (Patrick Williams, Australia, 2019) This short film explores themes of perception, assistance and change in the context of congenital and intellectual disability. Rather than telling a specific story, it offers a fresh viewpoint on how groups and individuals relate, prompting viewers to reconsider assumptions about ability and support. The work is intimate and observant, allowing moments to speak for themselves and encouraging reflection on everyday interactions. Screened as part of the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Change Your Focus complements the programme by highlighting the varied experiences and strengths of people with disability, and by asking us to look a little closer.

Love this. It is so so true.
Great effort love the message you got across
What I like about this film is that it is relatable. Haven't we all been that self-absorbed that we don't notice those around us are helping. I think the idea and execution is very clever.
