Earnest (2019), film still

About this Short Film

Earnest (2019) from Rooty Hill High School is an Australian entry that offers a thoughtful look at how teenagers perceive and include peers with autism and cognitive processing disability. Through its attention to viewpoint, group dynamics and the challenges of understanding differences, the short film invites viewers to consider how small choices and everyday interactions shape inclusion. It aligns with the Focus on Ability festival’s aim to highlight abilities and perspectives often overlooked on screen. Earnest is a quiet, clear reminder that listening and shifting perspective can open doors in classrooms and communities.

Pretty decent I liked it however one scene in the film when he met Sarah it was hard to hear with all of the background noise but in general it's great even with the narration.
