About this Short Film
Eye Spy Anthony (Cara, Australia, 2019) is a short film included in our Focus on Ability program. It explores themes around a young person’s experience of disability, touching on eyegaze, medical and physical disability, and seizures. The work also brings Indigenous perspectives to the screen and reflects on inclusion and individuality. Shot with care, the film invites audiences to consider different ways of seeing and connecting with a teenager and child navigating complex needs. It sits alongside other festival selections that celebrate ability, resilience and dignity, and will prompt conversation about communication, access and the small moments that matter.
