Ability (2020), film still

Ability

About this Short Film

"Ability" by Charles Mbukwa (Malawi, 2020) is presented in Focus on Ability, our international short film festival. The film looks at questions of perception, inclusion and work, bringing together themes of blindness, sensory and physical disability, mobility and creative practice. Through images and sound it considers how people experience photography, film making and employment, and how groups and communities shape viewpoint and access. Without prescribing answers, Ability asks audiences to notice the skills and adaptations that matter in everyday life. It is a thoughtful, respectful contribution to a programme that highlights achievement, diversity and the many forms of ability.
