About this Short Film
Be You, directed by Justin Kwizera (Rwanda, 2022), is a short film presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. Rather than assuming a single narrative, the work explores themes of achievement, employment and adult capability in the context of physical disability. It offers a thoughtful, respectful look at individual experience and the ways people with disability navigate work and independence. Steady in its tone, Be You aligns with the festival’s aim to showcase ability and accomplishment across cultures. This short invites audiences to reflect on inclusion, dignity and the everyday realities of being capable.

I am very inspired by this short film These people always face the challenge of surviving due to their disabilities but I trust that this video will set a recognizable impact to our communities. I can see how the lives of this people have changed and we can be able to see that their disabilities are not a reason to not work . I know there are more competitors but may the judges consider this short film because its really showing much more to change peoples lives.
