Strokes of Resilience

About this Short Film

Strokes of Resilience (Kim Williamson, Australia, 2022) explores themes of accident, achievement and the drive to reclaim purpose after life-changing injury. The film examines what it means to be paralysed and to live with medical and physical disability, and it touches on sport and motivation, including motocross and the Paralympics. Williamson offers a thoughtful, human portrait that is honest about barriers while remaining quietly hopeful. Short and direct, it is a natural fit for the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, inviting audiences to recognise strength, determination and the many ways people adapt and thrive.

An honest thought provoking and insightful production. The narrative flowed really well the videos and pictures were appropriate and interesting and its a great story of power through adversity. Yes the way to deal with something is to process it.
