About this Short Film
"A Focus on Ability" (Dandenong Valley Special Development School, Australia, 2018) presents a thoughtful, human look at themes including anxiety, autism, perception and school life. Rather than telling a set storyline, the film offers moments and viewpoints that reflect the lives of children and teenagers with intellectual disability in a school setting. Bravo Tom. This film exemplifies why it is so important to question and contextualise the measures of success. Whilst it means different things to us all love kindness connection and community are universal in their impact and cross all lines of difference. Vote 1 for love a great teacher and dad and for a beautiful reminder on the value of seeing the world through new eyes.
I like this film for it's real-ness and the fact that it makes me think more about EVERY child that as an individual that needs to be understood and recognised. Care and Respect are the way of the future. Thumbs up Tom.
