About this Short Film
This is Me from Montrose Bay High School (Australia, 2018) explores Auslan and Deaf experience within a school community. The short highlights group learning, inclusion and teaching practices for teenagers with sensory disability. Through classroom and social moments it shows young people using sign and building connection. Short and accessible, it offers a warm, honest look at communication and belonging in a school setting. Presented as part of the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, the film celebrates abilities and daily achievements, and invites audiences to consider how schools can better support inclusion and communication for Deaf students.
