About this Short Film
Waiheke Hi (Waiheke High School, New Zealand, 2018) is a short film presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. It highlights themes of achievement, sport and skill development within a school context, and recognises a wide range of access needs including physical, sensory and cognitive differences. The film invites audiences to see the talents and determination of young people, from wheelchair users to those who are deaf or living with muscular dystrophy or other conditions. Warm and direct in tone, Waiheke Hi contributes to the festival’s celebration of inclusion, teamwork and the everyday strengths of teenagers with disability.

LOVE THIS SO PROUD OF THESE YOUNG ADULTS WHOM SOME I TAUGHT IN ECE ..OLLIE FROM DIAGNOSES TO FOUR WHEN I SADLY LEFT WAIHEKE ISLAND I HAVENT SEEN HIM IN 7 YRS I HAD TEARS OF HAPPINESS WATCHING THIS AND JUST SO PROUD OF THE YOUNG MAN HE IS TODAY . ALONG WITH CHARLOTTE WHOM JUST AMAZES ME LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR WORK CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL U WON MY HEART ALL OVER AGAIN. GOOD LUCK U ALL OF YOU INVOLVED THIS AWESOME FILM .
