About this Short Film
BEFORE BECOMING THEM A high-speed ride. A fall during a run. A voice that suddenly disappears. A war no one else can hear. And a life that begins on a different path from the very start. Through five interconnected stories, the film explores the moments before lives are forever changed. Each character once shared the same freedoms many of us take for granted — movement, sight, speech, hearing, and possibility. But a single moment can alter the course of a life. Moving between realism, metaphor, and imagination, the film invites viewers to look beyond disability as a condition and instead see the human experience behind it. Before becoming “them, ” they were us. And perhaps, in the end, we realize they still are.
