Film Transcript

Kathy Blae reporting live in the Sunny Oaks neighbourhood, where a series of robberies and break-ins has plagued this beautiful community. One resident even came face to face with a perpetrator. "Do you know that creepy offered me a cookie to show him my boobies? Scariest moment of my life." Law enforcement is asking everyone to lock all their home doors, windows and vehicles. No leads just yet, but it looks like we're dealing with a professional. "Don't try to be a hero. Just let us do our job." Oo, little fella. Please, right away. This is Kathy Blake reporting live — stay safe.

"What's good, big dog? You got it, bro. How you doing, man?" "Hey, ain't that your neighbourhood on the news, man?" "Yeah, that's my neighbourhood, man. Y'all need some real cops, man. Carl Winszo ain't going to do nothing. They better be glad I ain't on the force no more." "What you going to do, man?" "Roll some ankles. Cut some hair, Tony. Somebody got to do something, bro."

"Man, you know what I would do? I would put a squad together." "I can't do that, Lou. And that police officer just said he ain't want nobody playing no hit hero, man." "But that's why you got to be smooth with it. We can host a meeting here tonight after I close the shop. Recruit a few people from your neighbourhood. Draw attention to your house. Set up a few traps. Assign everybody a position. And when he bite, we strike." "And I got the perfect cover name to put the whole operation in motion: Neighbourhood Watch."

"What are y'all doing here?" "We got your email and we're ready to roll." "What email? I ain't send y'all no email." "We're going to help you get your community back. We're the new vigilantes." "They're going to call us the Crips." "It's already a [ __ ] gang." "How about the wheel?" "Not all of us are in wheelchairs." "I got it. We're the mobility marbles." "Yo, yo, no. All that sounds stupid." "All right. Actually, that last one was kind of nice, but no, I'm not taking you on no mission with me, man." "What you got going on here, man?" "I messed up, Lou. Messed around and sent the email to the wrong group, man." "Yo, Lance, we got you, bro." "Heck yeah. Let's run."

"Get the gun. Get the gun." "Really? Sammy, why do you have a gun, man?" "You told us to bring what we have." "Everybody that brought something, put it out on the table now. Who bought the clarinet?" "Really? No one ever lets us do anything." "Exactly. They treat us like we're not even alive." "That's right, Kelsey. We're tired of the car and field trips." "I actually don't mind the caregivers. We need some excitement in our lives, too. Let us help you, Lance."

"All right. That's right. But here's the plan. The perpetrator only targets rich women. Dominique, that's you; Sammy and Miles, y'all be in the foyer with the bats. Go to work. Carlos, I need you down there with that remote control to lock down the door like your life depended on it. Don't move till you hear my signal. Only sound we can't get mixed up: clarinet." "Yeah, baby. Let's ride." "All right. Is everybody in position? Ready outside. Nobody moves until you hear the clarinet. All right. Y'all got that?"

"Hello? Can y'all hear me?" "No. No — the battery's dead." "No. No, no, no, no, no, no." "That's the clarinet. Go, go, go, go, go." "What y'all doing? What y'all doing? What you doing?" "Here comes the driveway. Get ready to turn left now." "Here they come. Get ready." "Heat. Heat." "I... ah..."
