Apart from entries from every Australian State & Territory we now have the first of our International entries.

‘Focus on Ability’ is truly an international concept and highlights how important it is to see past disability to the ability and skills base that exists amongst people with disability.

When asked what NOVA Employment does I often respond it’s an Australian manufacturing business with a unique role – we make taxpayers!

Through employment participation and integration become far easier goals and it is truly inspirational to speak with people who have successfully made the transition from school to work or from welfare recipient to independent colleague, consumer and friend.

This is a theme that is sometimes portrayed in the film competition entries but is by no mean the only pathway to prize winner.

Our panel of judges is completely independent and I welcome the addition of the very talented Di Drew, Head of Screen at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

Its 13 weeks till International entries close – still plenty of time to make a contribution toward breaking down the misconceptions and stereotypical view of disability AND join us in Sydney for the best film competition this side of anywhere.
