About this Short Film

"It's Me" (Haregewoin Niguse, Ethiopia, 2024) is a short film that explores how discrimination, stigma and stereotypes shape the lives of young people. Through subtle scenes and quiet moments, the film looks at how groups respond to difference and how small acts of kindness can shift perceptions. It does not assume easy answers, instead offering space to reflect on prejudice and belonging. Presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, It's Me joins other works that highlight the abilities and everyday experiences of people with disability. A thoughtful, approachable piece, it invites audiences to consider how we recognise each other and what it takes to change attitudes.
