About this Short Film
Sombat Simla, a man born with a visual impairment. From a young age, Sombat had no friends or social circle other than his family and the khaen, a unique traditional musical instrument of northeastern Thailand, which was like his only companion. Then came a turning point. Sombat was forced to stay away from his father, the one who taught him how to play the khaen and who told him he could become a khaen player. At the same time, he learned of his mother's expectations, which didn't align with his own aspirations. He had to choose between becoming a khaen player as his father wanted or studying as his mother urged.
