Still Able

About this Short Film

A hardworking young man in his twenties dedicates his life to building a better future. Balancing a demanding job with a disciplined fitness routine, he believes that determination and consistency are the keys to success. However, his life changes dramatically when a road accident results in the amputation of his left leg. Unable to accept his new reality, he withdraws from the world and spends months isolated in his small rented room. As his physical and emotional struggles intensify, he loses his job and begins to question his purpose and future. One day, while scrolling through social media, he comes across a motivational video created for people with disabilities. Its message reminds him that while an accident can take away a limb, it cannot take away resilience, discipline, or the will to move forward. Inspired by these words, he decides to rebuild his life. He cleans his neglected surroundings, reopens his laptop, and commits himself to learning, growing, and becoming stronger than before. As he regains confidence, he chooses to give back to society by regularly donating blood, believing that no one should lose their life due to a shortage of blood caused by accidents, childbirth complications, or war. Through this act of service, he discovers a renewed sense of purpose. The film concludes with the young man preparing to attend church. As he ties the shoe on his remaining foot, he receives a message reminding him that it has been three months since his last blood donation and that he is eligible to save lives once again. Smiling, he quietly resolves to donate blood after returning from church. A powerful story of resilience, purpose, and transformation, the film reminds us that true strength is not defined by what we lose, but by how we choose to move forward with what remains

Film Transcript

Heat.

I know the darkness of looking in the mirror and seeing a stranger. You miss the old you, the worker, the athlete, the guy who thought he was unbreakable. But look closer. A car accident can take a leg, but it cannot touch your iron will. The gym didn't just build your muscles. It built your resilience. Your routine changed, but your standards don't. You are still a warrior. Rebuild. One rep, one step at a time.

Heart. Uh-huh. Add heat.
